Course: Importing a PST file into Zimbra

Audience: Clients who would like to upload their Outlook information to the new DataSync Email system. 

Prerequisites: Zimbra PST Importer Tool and a PST File from Microsoft Outlook

Benifits: With your old information on DataSync's servers, you will easily be able to sync up to your Smartphone and other Email clients.  This will also allow DataSync to regularly backup your information and be able to restore your account if needed.

            
     
Recommend step - configure Microsoft registry to allow for larger files and do not stop if an error occurs(located at the bottom of this article)

1. Get the PST Import Wizard

  • Click here to download the PST Import Wizard

  • When the download finishes open the file

  • Click on "Next"

2. Import Destination

  • Hostname: saturn.datasyncintra.net

  • Port: 443, Check Use Secure Connection

  • User name: Full E-mail Address

  • Password: ********

  • Click on "Next"

3. Import PST

  • Click on "browse"

  • Locate the PST file of Outlook you created.

  • Un-check Import into account.

  • Click on "Next"

4. Import Items

  • Un-check the convert meetings organized by me box

  • Click on "Next"

5. Import Options

  • Click on "Next"

6. Begin Import Process

  • Click on "Ok"

Troubleshooting errors : Backup Registry first

Changes made to registry Local User >> Software >> Zimbra >> (rightclick) add D-WORD value

MaxAttachSizeMB     REG_DWORD             Value 0 = no limit to the size of message attachments
Messages larger than 10 MB will not be imported.  The key value should be specified in megabytes (MB).

ErrorThreshold           REG_DWORD             Value 0 = Wizard will not stop on errors
After three consecutive errors the ZCS Import Wizard for Outlook will stop.
