DataSync Suite:

Q: The loading page just sits there and does not log me in.

A: A few possible resolutions on this.

  • You did not log out of the suite correctly, going to https://portal.datasyncsuite.com/extensions/logout will log you out.

  • Your Zimbra is set to standard version, log in manually (by passing the suite) and changing the preferences of Zimbra to login with the advanced version.

  • There is a bug if you are a Suite admin with the Suite admin extension this will hang the loading screen. All you have to do is refresh the page when the page seems to be stuck.


Q:  Does the Email archiver archive e-mails when I send them?

A: Unfortuantely this is not a feature of the Suite as of right now, you will have to go into your sent box and archive the e-mail from there.


 

Communicator:

Q: How much storage does each account come with?

A: 2GB by default, but we allowed pooled storage. If one account needs 3GB and another only needs 1GB, there is no extra charge for the account with 3GB.


Q: What is the difference between an Alias and a Distribution List?

A: An Alias is another e-mail associated with an account so mail can be sent to either address and still all go into the same inbox. (ie joe@example.com has an alias of joseph@example.com mail can be sent to either joe or joseph@example.com). A distribution list is a group of e-mail account underneath 1 account. If a message is sent to a distribution list all accounts in the distribution list will recieve the message. (ie support@example.com is a distribution list with the accounts example1@example.com and example2@example.com both of the accounts will recieve the message that was sent to support@example.com)


Q: I can't get to the Admin UI when I type in the URL into my browser

A: Make sure the URL connects to the Admin UI ussing SSL: "https" and to port ":7071" by default.


Q: Which browsers does the web client work with? 

A:

  • Firefox 1.5+ on PC, Mac, Linux

  • Internet Explorer 6+ on PC

  • Safari 2.0+ on Mac


Q: What languages is Zimbra translated into?

A: French, German, Italian, Japanese, Finnish, Russian, among others.


Q: Why is my signature always below the message trail?

A: In the signature creator at the bottom of the screen you want to have show above included messages. This will always put your signature in the message you are composing.


Q: How often are accounts backed up, and how long do you hold backups for?

A: We do backups nightly, and we hold a backup of an account for 30 days. After 30 days we delete the backups that are older than 30 days.


Q: I need to be able to send as a different account from Zimbra rather than my main Zimbra Account, can I do this?

A: Yes and No, you will need to first contact support to change your account to allow you to be able to send as any address. When this is complete you will be able to create a persona for your account that you will be able to send as. Click here for the course Creating a Persona in the Zimbra WebUI.
