At DataSync, we believe bringing together various open source software applications is the solution for businesses looking to increase efficiency. We are not the only ones out there who think this, as Matt Asay of The Open Road noted in his blog post “Mix and match: The perfect open-source Web commerce company” recently.
“Why not give such small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) a way to build a Web presence (Drupal) and a way to drive customers to their sites (OpenX) at the same time?”
Our consolidation of Drupal to build a web presence, SugarCRM to enhance customer service and manage sales, and Zimbra as a collaboration application for businesses is our solution to finding the perfect blend of open source software. We’re taking simple software that all businesses need to run a company, and consolidating them to increase business’ efficiency and productivity.
We think downloading multiple applications and having data scattered across various dashboards is a waste of time. We want to provide a solution to lessen the hassle.
“Granted, mergers and acquisitions always look better on paper than in actuality, but I think the combination could be potent. Each company comes with strong communities and strong products. Each also contributes to a very interesting, subscription plus transaction-based revenue stream.”
We’re excited to be a part of this trend, and look forward to the future of open source software. We are constantly looking at new software applications that we could add to our DataSync Suite. We want your input, what open source companies would you like to see added to our mix?
